RUBRICHESET-DEV partners organise three final seminars, titled “Research, Innovation and Development: the Social Fabric of Science” (Hyderabad 29th of March, Nairobi, 29th of April, Brussels 3rd of May). The project was aimed at supporting the research systems of two countries – India and Kenya – in order to enhance the position of scientific and technological research (STR) in society, i.e. to promote its socialisation. The project, funded by the European Commission – DG Research, was intended to confront the ethics and science issues within a broader and complex framework of the relationships between science and society, with a view to encourage various social actors to assume greater responsibility toward STR.
The African Manifesto for Science, Technology & Innovation and the Knowledge Swaraj: An Indian Manifesto on Science and Technology will be presented, together with the document I have drafted together with a group of SET-DEV partners, titled “Technological responsibility. Guidelines for a shared governance of the processes of socialisation of scientific research and innovation, within an interconnected world”.
